What is the difference between a wallet and an address?

Every cryptocurrency has a corresponding wallet. Think of a wallet as your own bank account; you must have one before you can receive or send any cryptocurrency.

A cryptocurrency address is a string of 27 to 34 letters and numbers. You can think of an address as your bank account number. Just as you need a bank account number to receive funds or send money to others, the same applies in the world of cryptocurrency. You use an address to send cryptocurrency to others, or you receive cryptocurrency from someone else's address.
