Dear MaiCoin User,
Recently, several third-party cold wallet vendors have experienced personal data breaches. Malicious actors may have obtained some users' contact information (such as email addresses and phone numbers) and could impersonate the official identity of exchanges or wallet providers to send phishing emails, text messages, or instant messages — attempting to trick you into clicking links to counterfeit websites and entering your account credentials, recovery phrase (private key), or other sensitive information.
To protect the security of your assets, MaiCoin urges you to stay vigilant.
Common Scam Tactics
- Impersonating "official" channels to send emails/text messages claiming your account is "abnormal," "requires verification," or "has been frozen," and urging you to click a link and take immediate action.
- Directing you to fake websites that closely resemble the official site, tricking you into logging in so they can steal your credentials.
- Using pretexts such as "security upgrade" or "wallet migration" to ask you to provide your recovery phrase, private key, verification code (OTP), or backend password.
- Impersonating customer service via phone calls or messages, asking you to make transfers, provide one-time verification codes, or install remote-access software.
Please Always Remember
- Official channels will NEVER proactively ask you for your password, recovery phrase, private key, or OTP verification code, nor request that you transfer funds.
- Verify the official domains— confirm the URL is correct before logging in:
- MAX Digital Asset Exchange: https://max.maicoin.com/
- MaiCoin Digital Asset Trading Platform: https://www.maicoin.com/
- Do not log in via links in emails/text messages; we recommend entering the URL manually or using a bookmark.
- Official system emails are sent from the sender name [MaiCoin]. If you receive a suspicious email, do not click any links — go directly to the official website or Customer Support Center to verify.
- Be sure to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), and never share your verification codes with anyone.
- For messages that create a sense of urgency — such as "limited time" or "act now or your account will be frozen" — stay calm and verify first.
If You Have Already Received a Suspicious Message or Clicked by Mistake
- Do NOT enter any account, password, or personal information.
- Immediately change your password and check your 2FA settings.
- Review your account login history and asset activity; if you notice anything unusual, contact official customer service as soon as possible.
- Reach out to customer service through official channels.
We will continue to strengthen our system protections and security monitoring. At the same time, we also need you to stay alert and verify carefully. Only through the joint efforts of both parties can we effectively prevent fraud and safeguard the security of your assets.
Thank you for your trust and support.
