Device Binding
MaiCoin records the devices (e.g., mobile phones, computers) that you use to log in. When a new or unrecognized device attempts to access your account, MaiCoin will send an authorization email to your registered address. You must approve the new device from this email before login is permitted.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
MaiCoin uses Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to provide a critical second layer of security for our users. The first layer is your account password, and the second requires access to your mobile phone. Sensitive actions, such as withdrawals, can only be completed after passing this second layer of verification.
1. SMS Verification
When prompted, MaiCoin will send a one-time verification code via SMS to your registered mobile number. You must enter this code on the platform to proceed (please note there is a daily limit of 20 SMS messages).
2. Authenticator App
(This guide uses the Google Authenticator App as an example)
An authenticator app is a highly recommended alternative method for 2FA. If your password were ever compromised, the authenticator app provides a strong barrier to prevent unauthorized access to your funds.
While SMS is a common 2FA method, you may be unable to receive texts for various reasons (e.g., poor reception, traveling internationally). In these situations, using an authenticator app is ideal. The principle is the same as SMS: MaiCoin will prompt you to enter the time-sensitive code displayed in your app to authorize actions.
Important: If you are planning to travel abroad and are concerned about receiving SMS messages, we strongly advise you to set up an authenticator app before your departure.
